About Us
Following in the footsteps of our Order's founder, The Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney, our brother Knights work hard to deepen both our spirituality and fellowship.  We offer prayers at the funeral wakes and Masses for deceased members.  We have coffee and donuts after Masses during the course of the year.  We strive to build a strong relationship with our youth through our college scholarship program, Catholic essay contest, drug & alcohol awareness poster contest and sponsoring breakfasts and supper fundraisers for scouts.   Our council also organizes receptions for Sacramental programs and hold corporate communion memorial Masses.  We are making big strides in making our council a “family oriented” organization.
Relatively speaking, we are a young council, yet we have accomplished so much to help individuals and the parish community as well as deepening the spirituality of many people.  As part of the Prince of Peace Parish we strive to “invite all people into a deeper relationship we Jesus and each other...”
Sound interesting?  Sound rewarding?  Are you up to the challenge of doing works of charity?  Then “Consider yourself invited” and check us out!  For more information, contact Grand Knight Daniel Leclair at 207-754-2841, Deputy Grand Knight Joe Turmel at 207-240-7407
Council History
In 1999 several men started a council of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Cross Church.  The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization which strives to help men deepen their spiritual lives and to support both the local and universal church.  We are often referred to as the “right hand of the church”.

During the past few years, our council, which now has over 130 members, has held numerous fundraisers to help our parish, community and non-profit organizations.  We have held and continue to have bean suppers, spaghetti suppers & dances. We have installed an elevator for the handicap parishioners so that they may be able to participate in events taking place in the Holy Cross church basement.

We renovated our Trinity Catholic School cafeteria kitchen as well as the Catholic Center.  Our men and Ladies Auxiliary have also helped parishioners in various ways such as building handicap ramps at the homes of parishioners in need and have held fundraisers for people with major health concerns. The K of C and Ladies Auxiliary worked together to create the Memorial to the Unborn garden located on the Biron Avenue side of the church.
