Youth Service Programs

The Children of Today
are the Leaders of Tomorrow

Today’s youth, the leaders of tomorrow, are looking for a challenge, for responsibility, for faith and trust.

Yet, despite their commitments and dedication, the youth of the world are often condemned because of the uncontrolled actions of a minority of young people. As Knights of Columbus, it is our responsibility to provide youth with the means and the opportunities to become personally committed and involved in meeting the challenges of our times.

Our council is the Chartering Organization for Cub Scout Pack 116, Boy Scout Troop 116, and Venture Crew 116, and several of our Knights are actively involved with the Scouting units. We also support and promote Scout Sunday at a special mass in February, and urge all boys to earn their Catholic Scouting awards or the associated religious award in their own denomination.

We support the Life Teen program that is underway at the Prince of Peace parish.

I will recognize the dignity and worth of all humanity and will use fair play and goodwill in my daily life. I will acquire the Venturing attitude that seeks the truth in all things and adventure on the frontiers of our changing world.

Knights in Action: Trinity Catholic School Fall Festival 11/14/2009 A Fall Festival Fair was held at Trinity School on Saturday, November 10th from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
The members and families of Council 12652 worked the canteen for the fair serving: chili, chop suey, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, lobster rolls, and pastries. Prior to the actual day of the fair, some of the workers of the canteen worked with the organizers of the fair to establish a menu, shopped around for the best deals to get the food from different vendors. Some of the food had to be prepared ahead of time to get ready for the actual day of the fair. Clean up of the kitchen area followed.
Due to many donations of food items, the event proved to be profitable. The entire proceeds from the sales at the canteen went towards supporting the Trinity Catholic School. The canteen generated $1,200.00 for Trinity School.

Knights in Action: Trinity Catholic School Fundraiser 5/20/2009On May 20th, 2009 we held a spaghetti supper to help the Trinity Catholic School cafeteria staff raise money for supplies not normally available through regular weekly funding. 75 paid patrons helped to raise $65.00 after expenses for this cause. Served was spaghetti, meatballs, sauce, salad, bread, salad dressing, dessert with coffee, tea, and milk. This was held at the Holy Cross Church hall which is also used as the cafeteria for the school.
